This three-day Ban Gioc waterfall tour starts and finishes in Hanoi visiting incredible waterfalls, caves and local villages, all whilst staying in homestays with a Nung and Tay family.Begin the trip with a long drive to Cao Bang with stops on the way to take pictures and visit local villages. Your first overnight stay is with a Nung family. The Nung people are one of the 54 ethnic groups and are closely related to the Tay Ethnic Group who also live in the same region. Nung people make a living primarily through farming and handmade products, which they sell among their own people as well as to the rest of Vietnam. In Cao Bang, you will visit the Ban Gioc waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Asia. You'll then continue the trip to Ba Be Lake, one of the world's largest freshwater lakes, a picturesque place to stay and relax. Here, you are welcomed into a Tay family home. The Tay people are the biggest ethnic minority group in Vietnam, living along the rivers in the mountains. They live in wooden stilt houses with tile or palm leaf roofs and wear clothes made of hand-woven cotton, dyed with indigo. The Tay worship their ancestors with an altar in the centre of the house and they have developed a rich culture of pms, songs, epics, tales, funny stories and dances, which you will discover for yourself.
