This trip gives you lots of free time to discover your own Italy, with a mix of local experiences and tours that are firmly on the tourist trail so that you'll see all that you want to while having the opportunity to discover what Italy is really about! From Venice, you'll make your way to Rome, with a few stops along the way, including the picturesque Cinque Terre and Puglia, in the south of Italy. You'll have a few days free to explore before you make your way to Rome where your Italian adventure will end.

Day 1: Welcome to Your Trip to Italy!
Arrival at Venice Airport and take a private boat to transfer to your accommodation. In the afternoon, join a small group excursion to welcome you in Venice. The tour will introduce you to some of the key attractions in the floating city.
Day 2: Venice, Murano & Burano Excursion
Join another small group tour to discover the enchanting islands of Murano and Burano and see why the arts of glassblowing and lacemaking made them so famous worldwide. This tour captures the importance of traditional trades in the city in two of the most beautiful islands in Venice.
Day 3: Venice to Stresa
You'll take the train to get to Stresa. Once settled into your hotel, you'll have the option of joining in an afternoon tour to Mottarone cable car to a viewpoint for a stunning view of the city over the Lake Maggiore.
Day 4: Stresa and Borromean Islands Tour
Your trip to Italy continues. Wake up in Stres and take a private boat with your guide to visit Borromean Islands. You'll visit several islands that are owned by families who have impressive collections of artworks and beautiful gardens. You'll have the afternoon to relax and enjoy Stresa.
Day 5: Levanto
In the morning, take a train from Stresa to Levanto, a small town just a step away Cinque Terre National Park. You'll spend the afternoon hiking through olive groves and between hamlets to discover the beauty that this region is famed for.
Day 6: Levanto Wine Tasting in Cinque Terre
Today use your Cinque Terre card to reach Manarola and enjoy a wine tasting with a local winemaker. You'll have time to explore this town at your own pace, taking time to enjoy the contrast of the quaint houses with the rugged landscape.
Day 7: Levanto, Pesto Cooking Class
Learn about the fine art of pesto with this unique experience where you'll make your very own! You'll learn everything from product sourcing to ratios and blending to create the perfect paste. Of course, you'll taste it too. In the afternoon, you'll have the chance to do some hiking, if you wish.
Day 8: Florence and A Welcome Tour
After breakfast, check out and continue your trip to Italy by taking the train to Florence. In the afternoon, you'll have a walking tour. You will visit the imposing Piazza del Duomo and the cathedral. Your guide will give you a brief introduction before leading you into the quieter streets of the Santa Croce neighbourhood. This is where Dante used to hang out and where Michelangelo both lived and was buried. Few visitors venture into this part of town.
Day 9: Florence, Artisan and Handcraft Shop
Today meet our local guide for an interesting tour of the ancient shops and artisan laboratories of the town. You will discover what makes the excellence of “made in Italy” by getting to know the traditions and the techniques of the artisan work that will reveal an authentic and “off-the-beaten-track” side of Florence.
Day 10: Florence, Siena and San Gimignano
Florence is renowned as one of the most cultural and historical cities in the world and is packed full of amazing architecture and places of significance - you'll have a free morning to explore on your own. In the afternoon, drive to Siena for a guided tour of the Tuscan countryside, then onto San Gimignano and finally, end with a typical Tuscan dinner in a Chianti villa.
Day 20: Matera Free Day
You've got the day to yourself, today you could rent a car to explore the south of Italy. From Matera, you could go to Bari to get a feel for the capital of Puglia or make your way to Lecce - the heel of Italy's boot.
Day 19: Walking Tour and Bread-Making Demonstration
Today enjoy a private walking tour of Matera to get to know this fascinating city with its rock-hewn buildings and then, end the day with a delicious bread-making demonstration. Each region has its own way of making and enjoying bread, and today, you'll learn how to do bread like a local in Matera.
Day 18: Arrival in Matera
In the morning, you'll transfer to Naples Station then take the train and bus to reach eventually reach Matera. You'll check-in to your hotel and then have free time to start exploring this UNESCO World Heritage city.
Day 17: Pompeii & Vesuvius Excursion
Join another excursion to the Pompeii Archeological Site and later on, you'll visit the volcano that was guilty of its destruction. This is a fascinating day where you'll understand the power of volcanic ash and its preservative properties and see it for yourself.
Day 16: Sorrento, Amalfi Coast Drive
Today join a group tour with private coach and assistant to visit Amalfi, Positano and Ravello. Drive along the stunning coastline where you'll have constantly stunning scenery. Have your camera ready for some beautiful pictures!
Day 11: Florence, Rome and Ape Calessino tour
Take the train to transfer to Rome. In the afternoon, board a snappy Ape Calessino, “cousin” of the Vespa and you will see the most iconic sites of the city with its Baroque squares. From Piazza di Spagna to the Trevi Fountain, you will walk through the Eternal City and visit its most picturesque spots.
Day 14: Rome, Trastevere Food Tour
Today you will have a guided tour of the lively Trastevere area including delicious food and wine tastings along the way. Your guide will introduce you to true Roman cuisine that gs way beyond what you would expect.
Day 13: Rome, Vatican Museums Tour
After breakfast, visit the Vatican city with your guided tour of the Vatican Museums. One of the great and largest collections of artworks in the world, a walk around the Pope's galleries could take up an entire day, however, your guide will show you the most important and impressive pieces. You'll have the rest of the day to explore the city, get lost in the winding streets and sample some of the local delicacies.
Day 12: Rome, Imperial Tour of Rome
In your morning guided tour, you'll visit sites that date back to Imperial Rome: the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill which make up one of the great and oldest excavation sites in the world. Your guide will paint the picture of the life and times of the Roman Empire and their means of entertainment.
Day 21: Return to Rome
You'll take the bus and train to get to Naples where you'll board your train to Rome. You'll have some time to explore and do some last-minute shopping, this is your last day before your departure.
Day 15: Sorrento Arrival
From Rome, you'll take the train to transfer to Naples and then you'll have a private transfer to go to your accommodation in Sorrento. Once settled into your new hotel, you'll have time to explore the beautiful Sorrento.
Day 22: End of Your Trip to Italy
You'll take your private transfer to the airport just in time for your flight.
