Day 1: Your Italy Luxury Tour Begins
Upon arrival, you'll take a private boat transfer from Venice Airport to your accommodation in the centre of the city. Later in the afternoon, you'll meet your private guide for an off-the-beaten-path tour of the Jewish Ghetto and some food and wine tasting in historical bars (called 'bacari') attended by local Venetians during the happy hours. This tour will be a true taste of authentic local Venice.
Day 2: Venice Walking Tour and Gondola Ride
Today, you'll once again meet your local guide for a stroll around Venice to see the main highlights of the floating city. Meeting in St. Mark’s Square, you’ll take a few moments to appreciate this incredible space dating back to the 9th century. You'll then continue your tour to the Rialto Bridge and Doge's Palace. You'll end the tour with a romantic gondola ride, the best way to see Venice is indeed from the water! The rest of the afternoon is then free to spend however you wish.
Day 3: Travel to Florence & Handcrafts and Artisans Tour
After breakfast, you'll check out and depart by train to Florence. Upon arrival in Florence, you'll be escorted to your accommodation in the city. Following some free time for lunch in the afternoon, you'll meet your local guide for a walk in the historical centre and an interesting tour of the ancient shops and artisan laboratories of the town. You will discover the excellence of “Made in Italy” through artisans workshops and handicraft stalls.
Day 4: Chianti Wine Tour
Today, you'll leave Florence behind for the day and head out into the Tuscan countryside. You'll enjoy a tour of Chianti onboard a minivan with an experienced tour guide. During the tour, you will visit two wineries and enjoy a typical Tuscan meal. At each winery, you will get a tour of the winery, learn about the winemaking process and enjoy a tasting. You'll also visit two Tuscan historical towns during the day.
Day 5: Siena, San Gimignano & Dinner in Chianti
Florence is renowned as one of the most cultural and historical cities in the world packed full of amazing architecture and places of significance; you'll have a free morning to explore the city on your own before heading out for the rest of the day. In the afternoon, your Italy luxury tour takes you to Siena for a guided tour of the Tuscan countryside, you'll visit its famed Piazza del Campo, the medieval town of San Gimignano and end the day with a Tuscan dinner in a Chianti villa.
Day 6: Travel to Rome & Baroque Rome Tour on Ape Calessino
After breakfast this morning, you'll catch the train to Rome, your next destination on this wonderful trip. Upon arrival, you'll head to your hotel in Rome where you'll check in and then have some free time before heading out on an Ape Calessino tour in the afternoon. Known as the 'cousin' of the Vespa but more like a buggy, the Ape Calessino was popular in the 1960s and today still preserves its timeless charm.
Day 7: Imperial Rome & Trastevere Food Tour
This morning, you'll venture out on a guided tour of Rome's most important and most iconic sites dating back to Imperial Rome: the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. After taking in this glorious sites including the world's largest amphitheatre, you'll have some free time for lunch. In the late afternoon, you'll head out on a guided tour of the lively Trastevere area, home to Rome's vibrant nightlife, including food and wine tastings during this wonderful food tour.
Day 8: Travel to Amalfi & Sunset Cruise
This morning after breakfast, you'll check out and catch the train to Naples. Upon arrival, a private transfer will be waiting to take you to your accommodation in Amalfi. After some free time, enjoying this wonderful part of the world and getting settled in at your new hotel, you'll head out on a sunset cruise. You'll enjoy a three-hour cruise along the UNESCO-protected Amalfi Coast as the sky turns from blue to orange to red and purple.
Day 9: Amalfi, Lemon Tour and Cooking Class
Today learn something about the cultivation of the Amalfi lemons, which are unique in character and an essential ingredient of the region. Then, challenge yourself in a cooking class to learn some dishes you could prepare at home and surprise your guests with in the future. You'll have the remainder of the day to explore Amalfi at your own pace.
Day 10: Boat Trip to Capri
Along the route to Capri, you can enjoy Marina di Conca, the Emerald Grotto, Furore’s fjord, Positano, and Li Galli islands, home of the mythical sirens, according to Homer narration. During the Capri boat tour, you will admire the Faraglioni, the natural arch, White and Green Grotto, as well as the suggestive Marina Piccola. The return trip includes (time permitting) a shortstop for a relaxing swim along the coast.
Day 11: Free Time in Amalfi
Today, you'll have the day free to spend as you wish. You may want to relax at your hotel, on the beach, explore a nearby town or perhaps take a guided excursion - the choice is yours! Amalfi sits dramatically at the foot of the steep cliffs iconic to Italy’s southwest coast. Unlike other towns on this coast, Amalfi's gentle sloping of winding streets and white buildings makes it easier to explore than other towns that cling to the cliffside.
Day 12: Goodbye Amalfi!
After breakfast, you'll check out and take a private transfer to Naples airport where you'll catch your departing flight.
